The Neurology and Rehabilitation Department in Hässleholm (Norah) is a well-functioning inpatient department with 21 care places. We care for adult acute medical patients with acute stroke, neurological diseases, or other internal medicine profiles. This means you will encounter many different medical diagnoses and diseases with us. The department also receives patients in need of inpatient rehabilitation, which is a profiling of Hässleholm Hospital in Skåne.

We work based on person-centered care. The team around the patient is interdisciplinary and consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, social workers, dietitians, and speech therapists. We also have a pharmacist available when medication needs arise. Additionally, we have a coordinator responsible for My Plans, which contributes to a well-functioning collaboration with municipalities and primary care, as well as a coordinator with an overall view of our patient flow in the department. Our educational nursing assistant welcomes new employees and is responsible for their introduction and conducts regular training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will handle both rehabilitation patients and acutely ill patients. In your daily work, you will work a lot with stroke patients together with physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We offer you a well-developed training program, and as new to the department, you will receive good support from our educational nursing assistant. It is important for us to develop the acute care competence among our nursing assistants, which is why we actively work on this with a focus on facilitating for the patient so they can become independent in their daily life.

- At Norah, we are a great team who have a fantastic time at work. I have worked here since 2014 and feel very good and I learn new things all the time. The best thing about our department is that we have a breadth; we have both the acute side and the rehabilitation side where we can follow the entire rehabilitation process. Additionally, we as nursing assistants get to work a lot practically beyond the care aspect. QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on acute care according to the previous program structure or a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure with all specializations. You also have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in a hospital, preferably within acute care. It is also a plus if you have further education as a specialist nursing assistant in acute care or elderly care.

As a person, you take responsibility for your tasks, can take your own initiatives when needed, and have a good ability to prioritize what is most important at the moment. It is important that you enjoy working in a team, support your colleagues, and contribute to the development of the organization. Additionally, you have the ability to adapt and adjust your working methods according to changing circumstances. In patient interactions, you show patience and have an empathetic approach, as several of our patients are seriously ill. You are curious and want to learn new things, which is evident in your way of taking initiatives for your development. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

OTHER

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social care. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you need to be able to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by the transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
