Do you want to help create a safe and stimulating school environment in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg? Are you also a licensed teacher in leisure centers? Then you might be the one we are looking for! It only takes 20 minutes by boat from Saltholmen to reach this lovely archipelago setting.

Styrsöskolan is a F-9 school with 290 students located in scenic surroundings close to forest and sea. Our outdoor environment allows for variation in teaching where we can reach students in different ways. We strive to be a school for everyone, creating a safe and stimulating environment. The school's leisure department has about 55 students.

In our school area, we have four schools that work together for the best of the students; Asperöskolan, Brännöskolan, Donsöskolan, and Styrsöskolan. We collaborate for good collegial exchange and increased quality. Our goal is to shape schools and leisure centers that give children the best conditions to face the world, based on the advantages of small-scale operations! Since the school year 23/24, we have been working with the PALS school model.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the education is varied in both guided and free activities, and that different materials and learning environments are offered and used to stimulate students' desire to play and learn. You will contribute to promoting students' social development while practically working to help them achieve knowledge goals. Your main task is to work with other staff in the leisure center to ensure that operations are conducted according to the curriculum. You will also help develop collaboration with other schools in the archipelago.

At Styrsöskolan, we are committed educators who all work to provide all children and young people with safety, joy in work, good knowledge, and skills for further studies. You are not alone in the complex task that teaching entails; you have good support from colleagues, special educators, management, and student health teams.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher in leisure centers or a licensed teacher with another specialization. Experience working in leisure centers is an advantage for this position.

The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate.

In these small units, we work closely together, and you easily adapt your working style based on changing conditions and new information. You can quickly change your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes.

As a person, you show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your actions on the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in meetings. You have an open and positive attitude, with the needs of users/customers as the starting point for your actions.

The introduction provides you with a network of other recent graduates and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.
