A Day at Work

Torekällgymnasiet is Södertälje's municipal upper secondary school with introductory programs and national vocational preparatory programs. We are a small school, with about 300 students in the fall, which makes it easy to get to know all the students and staff. We have well-equipped, purpose-built method rooms and classrooms that enable qualified and varied teaching.
With us, you can really make a difference and you will work closely with both colleagues and students.
We are looking for a colleague with qualifications in vocational courses in the Child and Recreation Program, which focuses on pedagogical and social work. Teaching can be on both our national upper secondary program and the Vocational Introduction Program. The position is a temporary part-time position at 50% during the school year 26-27, starting in week 33.

We are in an exciting development phase at the school where we are working to develop teaching and shape education so that students can clearly see a red thread towards their goals. We are working on various exciting value-creating learning projects at the school. You will work together with your colleagues to develop this work and find more ways for your students to be motivated and achieve their goals. Our Child and Recreation Program is growing in size, and we are constantly working to develop teaching to meet all students' needs.

We are looking for someone who builds safe and positive relationships with students and can support them in their educational journey. As a teacher in the introductory program, you need to be used to adapting the school day to the students' needs and daily conditions. You have high relational competence and you are a secure person with great personal maturity who has experience working from a low-affective approach. You see the students' ability to develop as something natural and you see the possibilities instead of the obstacles. You want to take on the challenge of following students with different educational needs and leading each one towards increased knowledge and independence. Since you will collaborate with various professional categories and other authorities, your ability to communicate and cooperate is important. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

At the school, we have a strong student health team that you will also collaborate closely with. Here we have study coaches employed who work on promoting attendance and study motivation and take over several traditional mentoring tasks such as administration related to absence management, which means that time is freed up for the teacher to focus on what directly concerns learning. It is of great importance that you have a flexible approach where you put the student's best interests at the center and are ready to guide students, in various ways, towards different goals using various strategies.

Who are you?

Requirements:               
- Degree with upper secondary teacher certification in vocational subjects in the Child and Recreation Program
- Documented relevant professional experience

Meritorious
- Experience teaching in upper secondary school both national and introductory programs
- Experience driving development work in upper secondary school
- Education in or documented experience of low-affective approach

 Personal qualities:        
- You have high relational competence and you are a secure person with great personal maturity who has experience working from a low-affective approach.
- You see the students' ability to develop as something natural and you see the possibilities instead of the obstacles.
- You want to take on the challenge of following students with different educational needs and leading each one towards increased knowledge and independence.

Welcome to us!

Torekällgymnasiet is Södertälje's municipal vocational high school. The school has a strong connection to working life and industries. With us, we focus on vocational pride and create a whole in education through collaborations between subjects in projects related to the profession.
After completing their education, students can go directly to the labor market or continue their studies. At Torekällgymnasiet, students can also combine their studies with elite training in their sport by applying for NIU education, and the school also has a vocational introduction program in construction and civil engineering, health and care, as well as child and recreation.
