Your Responsibilities

The project aims to integrate digitized histology, molecular analyses, and clinical outcome data with machine learning models in human pancreatic cancer, with the long-term goal of establishing biomarkers to improve disease outcomes.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in your duties, but no more than one-fifth of your working time.

Your Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of postdoctoral researcher, you must have obtained a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must be completed by the time the employment decision is made.

It is advantageous if your degree was obtained no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, candidates who obtained their doctoral degree earlier may also be considered, for example, due to various types of statutory leave.

We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree in digital pathology; experience and knowledge in pancreatic pathology are required, as well as familiarity with annotation and correction of algorithm-based classifications. Proficiency in both Swedish and English is mandatory. Furthermore, experience from multidisciplinary teamwork and all parts of the research process, from idea to output in the form of publications with potential for implementation of results, is highly meritorious.

You are a driven and reliable person with strong integrity. You possess excellent collaborative skills and work in a structured manner.

Your Workplace

You will work in the Department of Surgery, Oncology, and Orthopedics (KOO), within the field of tumor biology, with a particular focus on digital pathology and molecular biology in pancreatic cancer. The department belongs to the Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV).

About the Employment

The position is a fixed-term employment for two years with the possibility of extension for a total employment period of no more than three years. The postdoctoral position is full-time.

Start date 260420 or by agreement.
