Environmental Leader

LFV is a forward-leaning organization where environmental and sustainability issues are high on the agenda. We are now looking for a driven Environmental Leader focusing on environmental performance, analysis, and indirect environmental impact - a key role in our environmental function with great scope to make a difference.

We lead aviation - in step with the times, in all situations. LFV is Sweden's leading actor in air traffic management for civil and military aviation with associated services. We offer air traffic management and related services both nationally and internationally. Our air traffic controllers manage approximately 2,000 aircraft daily in Swedish airspace. LFV was the first in the world to implement remote air traffic management, and we drive digitalization in several areas. Through various collaborations, we are involved in streamlining European airspace. Read more about LFV here!

About Us

The position is located in the Quality and Environment unit, where environmental work is conducted in close collaboration between environmental management, environmental performance, and operations. The unit is responsible for LFV's quality and environmental management system and for monitoring how operations are conducted in relation to requirements, goals, and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

As an Environmental Leader, you will work with environmental performance, monitoring, and analysis of LFV's indirect and operational environmental impact, with a particular focus on how air traffic management and operational decisions affect the environment and climate. The role also involves supporting the work within governance, monitoring, and development of environmental efforts. The work takes place in an environment that is both national and international, operational and strategic.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • develop, analyze, and monitor environmental statistics and key figures, including for climate accounts, management monitoring, and operational reports
  • work on monitoring environmental goals in the short and long term
  • analyze and develop work on indirect environmental impact, for example, how air traffic can be managed in the best way from an environmental and climate perspective
  • analyze and monitor the environmental effects of air traffic, including related to flight profiles, fuel usage, and emissions
  • support the development of environmental strategy, routines, and working methods
  • contribute to the environmental management system (ISO 14001) through monitoring, analysis, and improvement work
  • participate in and sometimes lead investigations, assignments, and projects within the environmental field
  • collaborate with internal operations as well as external and international actors
  • provide specialist support within the environmental area to the organization

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or equivalent, or other experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have several years of experience in environmental monitoring, analysis, statistics, and/or working with environmental performance, as well as experience with environmental management systems according to ISO 14001.

It is an advantage if you have worked in aviation, transport, infrastructure, or other technically complex operations. If you also have experience in data analysis, working with KPIs, and visualizing environmental data, we see this as a significant asset. Experience in international collaboration within the environmental field is also positive. You have a very good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

As a person, you are analytical and structured, with the ability to see connections and draw well-founded conclusions from data. You work independently and take responsibility for driving your work forward, while being solution-oriented and able to collaborate easily with different functions and stakeholders. You thrive in a role where you can combine analysis with operational dialogue and contribute to continuous improvement.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
