Postdoctoral Researcher in Perovskite Laser Diodes

We harness the power of over 40,000 students and staff. Students who bring hope for the future. Staff who contribute every day to Linköping University tackling contemporary challenges. Our values are based on credibility, trust, and security. By being courageous, thinking freely, and innovating, we collectively create a better future through both large and small actions. Welcome to apply for a job with us!

Your Responsibilities

You will contribute to the development of perovskite laser diodes, focusing on either material/component design. You will also investigate the fundamental working mechanisms of perovskite laser diodes.

Organometallic halide perovskites have been successfully introduced in solar cells, achieving efficiencies over 27%. They also show enormous potential for designing new functional materials and components with novel properties. For example, they exhibit strong electroluminescence and tunable emission color, making them promising candidates for efficient LEDs and laser diodes.

The group led by Professor Feng Gao focuses on energy materials produced from solution, primarily semiconductor perovskites and organic semiconductors.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in your responsibilities, but no more than one-fifth of the working time.

Your Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of postdoctoral researcher, you must have a PhD or a foreign degree assessed to be equivalent to a PhD. Your degree must have been awarded no later than at the time the employment decision is made.

It is advantageous if your degree was awarded no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, it may be considered if you obtained your PhD earlier, for example, due to various types of statutory leave.

You should:

  • Hold a PhD in physics, chemistry, materials, or engineering
  • Have prior experience with metal halide perovskites
  • Be highly motivated and able to collaborate as part of a team
  • Openly share information about your research with other group members and contribute to scientific discussions about your and other group members' work
  • Conduct the research described in the project description of the work and as requested by the research leader
  • Be able to lead projects and also perform some administration
  • Consult with other group members on experimental techniques
  • Be able to take responsibility for specific equipment and laboratory infrastructure, including maintenance of equipment, to ensure a smooth and well-functioning laboratory when requested by your research leader
  • Assist in mentoring junior group members

Please include a statement of intent indicating why you are interested in this position and why you believe you are qualified for it (by discussing the points above).

Your Workplace

You will work in the Department of Electronic and Photonic Materials (EFM) at the Institute of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (IFM).

About the Employment

The position is a fixed-term employment for two years with the possibility of extension for a total employment time of no more than three years. The postdoctoral position is full-time.

Start date by agreement.
