Palliative Nurse

The Palliative Unit consists of four multiprofessional teams in Gävleborg that work with specialized palliative care and belong to the oncology area. Here, doctors, nurses, social workers, hospital chaplains, and medical secretaries work together for the best possible quality of life for patients and their relatives. The team is responsible, together with the municipality's home care, for palliative care in the patient's home. We work closely together across team boundaries to create security for both patients and staff. We are now looking for someone who wants to make a difference for patients with incurable diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse, you will work with:

  • telephone counseling and information to patients and relatives as well as home care nurses and other actors involved in the patients' care
  • home visits together with a doctor and/or the team's social worker
  • your own home visits where you, as a nurse, follow up and assess the needs of patients and relatives for care and support
  • handling of medical technical products, certain sampling and dressing changes may also be relevant.

With us, you will:

  • work in a secure workgroup where there is always someone to consult
  • work daytime Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a team with specialized palliative care. We work person-centered based on Region Gävleborg's values. We prefer that you are a flexible and committed person who thrives in close collaboration with all professions in a varied everyday life. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to meet people in a professional and empathetic manner. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

In the role of nurse, you should:

  • be a licensed nurse
  • have a B driver's license.

Experience and/or education in palliative care is an advantage.
