We are now looking for four junior doctors for summer positions at our psychiatric clinic, two positions in Nyköping and two in Katrineholm. This position is suitable for you who are studying medicine and have completed semester 10, or who have obtained a medical degree and want to gain valuable clinical experience before your residency.

About us

The Psychiatric Clinic in Nyköping and Katrineholm provides specialist psychiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The organization works in multidisciplinary teams where doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nursing assistants collectively take responsibility for patient care and treatment.

We operate based on evidence-based methods with a strong focus on patient safety, quality, and continuous development. Collaboration and collegial support are central to our work, and as a junior doctor, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced specialists and senior doctors.

Your responsibilities

As a junior doctor, you will work in both psychiatric inpatient and outpatient care alongside a multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with senior doctors and specialists who provide continuous supervision, ensuring a safe introduction to clinical work in psychiatry.

Your tasks will include:

• Patient assessments and follow-ups in outpatient care
• Medical assessments of patients in inpatient care
• Participation in rounds with senior doctors and the care team
• Documentation and medical record keeping
• Medication follow-up and treatment planning
• Collaboration with nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals.

This work provides broad clinical experience of psychiatric conditions and how care is delivered in both outpatient and inpatient specialist care.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a medical student and has completed semester 10 of the medical program, or has a medical degree. You have an interest in psychiatry and patient-centered work. You need to have good collaboration skills as you will be part of a multidisciplinary team and work closely with other professional groups in daily tasks. You are responsible, structured, and capable of making medical assessments in collaboration with more experienced colleagues. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Summer position from June 1 to August 28
Location: 2 positions in Nyköping and 2 positions in Katrineholm.
Start date according to agreement.
