The Role of Service Desk Technician:

In the role of Service Desk Technician, you will be an important part of the service we deliver to our customers and become a part of our IT Customer Support Center (CSC). We are responsible for ensuring that our customers receive all the IT support they can expect to need in their work. As a Service Desk Technician, you are our customers' first contact, and support is provided via phone and through our ticket portal. Troubleshooting and ongoing support work are natural parts of your daily routine. Therefore, you need to enjoy working technically while also having a lot of customer contact. In this role, you will work with everything related to infrastructure and operations, and at Iver, you will have the opportunity to develop broadly within IT.

We do not see it as a hindrance that you are early in your IT career; at Iver, you will have the opportunity to develop and further educate yourself in various technical areas and competencies.

Three days as a Service Desk Technician might look like this:

Finally Monday! A new work week begins, and the first thing you do is pour a cup of coffee, log into the systems, and check with your colleagues how the weekend was. You start your work week by going through tickets and helping your customers with the support they need. You plan for the week's tasks and customer meetings. Troubleshooting and ongoing support work are natural parts of your daily routine.

Is it Wednesday already? In the morning, you have a meeting with your team colleagues where you have a forum and discussions. In the afternoon, you are in a meeting to discuss the onboarding of a new customer and how best to approach this to ensure high quality and a satisfied customer.

Happy Friday! - The week goes by way too fast. This particular morning is filled with troubleshooting an incident in a customer's environment. A small team quickly forms to work efficiently to find a solution to the problem affecting the customer. No problem is too difficult, and you are excited to find a solution, which you do just in time for lunch! In the afternoon, you support your colleagues with more complex issues and coach younger employees in their daily work.

Your background and profile:

To succeed in the role, we believe you have an interest in IT and enjoy providing good customer service. We see that you have a high school or post-secondary education in IT/technology or equivalent experience. The important thing is that you have a technical understanding and enjoy problem-solving. We place great emphasis on personal qualities, and to fit in the role, you need to enjoy working together in a team as well as independently.

We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Windows Server/Client
  • AD and GPO
  • Office 365 and Exchange
  • Application Operations
  • Network Technology
  • IT Security

Work experience or education in the field is highly meritorious. As a person, you are flexible, stress-resistant, and feel comfortable in your contact with people. Attention to detail and a sense of responsibility are other desirable qualities required for the job.

The position is based at our office in Skövde.
