Medical Secretary - Summer Temporary Position

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Welcome to the Secretariat in the Emergency Care Area

We have a vacant summer temporary position as a medical secretary within our area, where you will be offered a temporary position before the summer for training with the possibility of an extended temporary position after the summer, which we would of course like to fill as soon as possible.

The placement is in Kungälv. Scheduled full-time work during the summer temporary position is binding. Shadowing will take place during May.

In the emergency secretariat in Kungälv, we currently have 13 medical secretaries, and in Alingsås, we have 5 secretaries, with an administrative unit manager responsible for all. The secretaries in Kungälv work both days, evenings, nights, and weekends, while the secretaries in Alingsås work days, evenings, and weekends.

We are looking for someone who is:

• A medical secretary or perhaps on the way to becoming one this year.
• Detail-oriented and structured.
• Responsible and thrives in a fast-paced environment; you are also flexible regarding working hours and tasks.
• A team player who, together with colleagues, takes joint responsibility for daily work.
• Cheerful, positive, and service-oriented.

Your main tasks include:

Medical documentation in Melior, printing letters, certificates, referrals, and other correspondence. Diagnosis and procedure registration in ELVIS, patient registration, ambulance reception, real-time documentation on alarms, as well as many other stimulating administrative tasks. We expect that new stimulating tasks will gradually land on the medical secretaries' desks in the future.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Two-year YH education, or equivalent higher education to become a medical secretary, or ongoing YH or other higher education studies to become a medical secretary.
• Knowledge of Melior, Medspeech, and ELVIS.
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing and good knowledge of medical terminology.
• Good IT skills.

Meritorious:

• Training in diagnosis classification.
• Experience working in emergency care.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Selection and interviews may take place continuously.

Employment Form

Temporary position from June to August, hourly employment according to agreement with the possibility of extension.

Scope of Employment

Full-time from June to August, before and after as needed.
