Controller for the Preschool Administration

The Preschool Administration is responsible for approximately 25,000 children and about 360 preschool units.

Within the preschool department, there are 225 managers, 178 principals, and approximately 6,500 employees.

Job Responsibilities

The preschool department is responsible for all preschools under the Preschool Administration, pedagogical care, care during inconvenient working hours, internal services, child health, staffing, administration, open preschools, and lecturers.

The role of the controller is subordinate to the deputy department head within the preschool department. You will work closely with the department head, deputy department head, existing controller, operational managers, and chief coordinators within the department, but you will also be part of relevant overarching forums and have a good ability to understand the various operations within the preschool department. You will also work closely with the administrative controller and other functions related to planning, monitoring, and development within the department and the administration. You will have a very close collaboration with the existing Controller. As a controller, you are part of the operational management group within the preschool department. The position places high demands on collaboration.

Your assignment includes primary responsibility as a process leader for the planning and monitoring process within the preschool department. This includes responsibility for developing the systems and working methods within the department as well as ensuring effective and quality-assured processes based on the city's and administration's governance system.

As a controller, you are responsible for planning, development, and monitoring of the department's governance and management work, such as risk management, internal control, political assignments as well as municipal and administrative internal assignments.

You are responsible for the department's work with interim and annual reports, monitoring of political, municipal, and administrative internal goals and assignments. The role also includes driving development projects and conducting strategic operational analyses as well as analyzing various statistical data and contributing to a holistic view within the department as well as in the administration.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, e.g., in public administration, economics, or what the employer deems relevant for the position.

In the role, you should have several years of experience in similar strategic work in a municipally governed organization. You need to have good experience working with overarching planning and monitoring processes as well as internal control. We would like you to have documented knowledge in management and governance work. You need to be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.
