Job Advertisement: Care Assistant at Eskilshem Dementia Care Home

Do you want to help create a safe and meaningful everyday life for elderly people with dementia? At Eskilshem Dementia Care Home, we work together to provide our residents with good care and quality of life.

We are looking for five new colleagues for several of our units. We offer three permanent positions and two temporary positions for at least six months.

Eskilshem Dementia Care Home has six units and 70 apartments. Here, we work closely together and collaborate to create a safe and homely environment. The workplace is located in a quiet area with good transport links. With us, you will have an important and meaningful job where you make a difference every day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a care assistant, you will work in a motivating and supportive manner. You provide each person with support based on their individual needs and contribute to a safe and active daily life. You will collaborate with nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

As a contact person, you are responsible for creating a good quality of life for the resident. You will work with personal care, delegated health and medical tasks, documentation, and household chores. We use digital tools where you document in VIVA and sign delegations in Appva.

As a specialist care assistant, you will contribute your specialist knowledge to improvement and development work in the unit. You will support your colleagues and share your knowledge in daily work. You will also perform regular tasks as a care assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant or specialist care assistant with a focus on dementia/cognitive disorders, multi-ill elderly, palliative care, or psychiatry. Those who are about to complete their specialist training are also welcome to apply.

You have at least three to four years of experience working in elderly care, preferably with people with dementia. Dementia training or experience in an advocacy role is an advantage.

You can work days, evenings, and every other weekend according to the schedule. You are open to delegation and familiar with using digital tools. You have experience in documentation, such as writing deviations and action plans. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. For certain positions, Finnish language skills are an advantage.

You are empathetic, responsible, and have a genuine interest in working with the elderly. You have a strong drive and want to contribute to the development of the organization. You thrive in an open climate with dialogue and feedback.

To be considered for the position, you need to present proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. You can order this on the National Board's website. If you are already permanently employed in Eskilstuna municipality, you should instead submit a work certificate showing that you are covered by the transitional regulations from July 1, 2023.
