We are recruiting several employees for temporary positions during the summer of 2026 to ensure care, support, and assistance to our users in Ockelbo Municipality. We are looking for you who want to work in one of our various departments within the Social Administration:

• Home Care – Support our elderly to manage their daily lives in their own homes
• Special Housing – Help create security and comfort for our elderly at Ockelbo's only nursing home
• LSS & Social Psychiatry – Support individuals with disabilities to live an independent and meaningful life

In your application, we ask that you specify which department you are primarily interested in working in: Special Housing, Home Care, or LSS & Social Psychiatry. However, we cannot guarantee that you will work in the department you indicated as most interesting upon employment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Special Housing Bysjöstrand

At the nursing home, you meet elderly people in need of care, treatment, and service in their daily lives, working together with your colleagues in smaller departments. Bysjöstrand also has a short-term unit. In the residence, you will assist users with personal care such as hygiene, meals, and social activities. You will also participate in social documentation and have contact with relatives as needed.

Home Care

If you work in home care, you meet people in their own homes, often working independently. Here, you will assist users with personal care such as hygiene, meals, social activities, accompaniment to doctor/community visits, and certain health and medical care tasks based on the users' individual needs. Your work may also include everyday tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. You will also participate in social documentation and have contact with relatives as needed.

LSS & Social Psychiatry

Here, you work with individuals of various ages who need different levels of help and support in their daily lives. This can include support with personal care such as hygiene, meals, social activities, and social interaction. Practical tasks such as cooking and household chores may also occur. The work can sometimes be challenging, requiring you to be confident in yourself. You will also participate in social documentation and have contact with relatives as needed.

As a temporary employee within the social administration's departments, you will receive an introduction to the department you work in to feel secure in your role. As a temporary employee, the work may include delegated health and medical care tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

For employment, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old or turn 18 before June 1, 2026
• Have a genuine interest in working with people and want to make a difference
• Be responsible and have a warm demeanor
• Have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Be able to work during the day, evenings, and weekends

You need to be of legal age (18 years) at the start of employment, as the work involves independent responsibility, solo work, delegated tasks, and possibly work in dementia care where you may encounter users in challenging situations. The work may also include night shifts.

The requirement for legal age is based on the Work Environment Act and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations regarding minors' work environment, which includes special protective provisions and limitations on working hours and tasks for individuals under 18 years old.

When employed as a nursing assistant, you need to provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant.

Experience and education in care and support are meritorious but not required. Within LSS & Social Psychiatry, education in the child and leisure program is also meritorious but not required. A driver's license (B) is highly meritorious for work in Home Care and LSS & Social Psychiatry.

As a person, you are responsible, creative, and have great patience. You see and meet each user based on their individual needs and value a good approach highly. You have the ability to prioritize and work methodically in a fast-paced environment and understand the importance of effective collaboration with your colleagues and other functions within the organization.

Within the municipality, there is a political decision that a criminal record check is required for new hires.
