At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

Do you want to lead the task of developing, steering, and coordinating the agency's procurement? We are now looking for a temporary unit manager for the procurement and purchasing unit at the Planning Department, located in Norrköping.

With us, you will have an important assignment where you work with current societal issues and are influenced by what happens in our environment.

The procurement and purchasing unit is responsible for all acquisitions and works according to a category-driven approach. The categories are divided into different business areas where procurement experts with business area responsibility manage the contracts within the business area. The work is based on a comprehensive responsibility over time, which includes procurements/orders, dialogues, strategic work, and continuous follow-up in accordance with the Migration Agency's business process. The procurement and purchasing unit is also responsible for advising on purchasing and contract issues, managing and following up contracts, and developing the agency's e-commerce.

The unit is one of five units in the planning department, which in turn is one of the departments at the Migration Agency's headquarters. The unit has about 30 employees and is located in Norrköping.

Main Responsibilities

As the temporary unit manager for the procurement and purchasing unit, you have overall responsibility for the Migration Agency's procurements and acquisitions. As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading the operations of the unit, where goal fulfillment, a good working environment, and development are highly prioritized. You are responsible for staff, budget, operations, and working environment in the unit. You report to the head of the planning department, the Migration Agency's planning director, and are part of the planning department's management team.

You are goal- and results-oriented, proactive, flexible, and show decisiveness when it comes to driving issues forward. You have a high degree of service ability and possess excellent collaboration and communication skills, but stand by your opinions. You can see what is strategically important. You have a developing and clear leadership style. You lead with courage, empathy, and clarity.

You who are applying have:

  • Post-secondary education in law, economics, other social sciences, procurement and purchasing, or other education combined with experience that the employer considers equivalent
  • Experience in projects or project management related to procurement and category-driven procurement
  • Experience working with the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
  • Good communication skills. You can express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Swedish citizenship

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Management experience with responsibility for employees, budget, operations, and working environment within a government agency
  • Experience in migration policy issues

Security clearance with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. Employment is contingent upon a successful security clearance.
