We are now looking for a department head and deputy community building director
who thrives in a role where you can create a culture of success together, always focusing on making a difference for residents and businesses!
Your tasks
As the department head for development and operational support, you lead a department tasked with strengthening quality, efficiency, and long-term development capacity within the community building area. You combine a strategic holistic perspective with close, trust-based leadership that fosters growth in people and collaboration. You are responsible for personnel, budget, and working environment. You are also a presenter in the committee.
In this role, you will be an important part of the office's management team, where you, together with other department heads and the community building director, actively participate in the strategic work of the entire community building process. The management team has a shared responsibility for the office's operations and works on behalf of the three committees: the building and environmental protection committee, the community planning committee, and the municipal executive board.
The assignment also includes being the deputy community building director, where you provide close and trusting support to the regular director and step in as a substitute when needed. You lead your own strategic initiatives with a primary focus on the office's internal development. You will work closely with the management coordinator, who supports daily operations through administrative relief. Your immediate supervisor is the community building director.
In this role, you are expected to take clear responsibility for the entire office's development and delivery. As department head and deputy community building director, you are a key person in creating consensus, common working methods, and clear priorities that have an impact on operations.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field. We view a leadership education positively.
You have experience working as a manager, preferably within municipal operations. Furthermore, you have experience leading through other managers. You also have experience working in a politically governed organization and several years of experience in the community building process.
You have an understanding of and knowledge about the community building process. You also have good knowledge of change management and operational governance, as well as experience in change management.
As a person, you are goal- and result-oriented, clear in direction and expectations, and can adapt when work requires it. You have a good ability to collaborate with different functions and see cooperation as the key to success. You lead with integrity, courage, and care. You apply trust-based leadership and trust that those you lead have the knowledge, judgment, and desire to perform their work in the best way without micromanagement. Your most important task is to create conditions based on the needs in the meeting between employees and those we serve. The aim to contribute to welfare and societal benefit is always guiding your leadership. Furthermore, you have the ability to think strategically and take into account the best interests of the entire organization in your decisions.
