Make a Difference. Every Day.

Are you a nurse who is passionate about making a difference and longing for a meaningful and stimulating job with children and young people? Do you feel that it would be fun and developing to combine clinical work with coordinating tasks? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric (BUP) inpatient care in Malmö operates regionally with the target group being children and adolescents up to 18 years old. Here, specialized inpatient care is provided in three wards and an emergency department, all of which are open 24/7. In ward 1, there are five beds for patients with severe and complex child psychiatric issues.

On our ward, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we have an open atmosphere, value each other's competencies, and have strong trust in each other as colleagues. The workgroup consists of nurses, caregivers, family therapists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, coordinators, secretaries, and a unit manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In ward 1, we offer highly specialized care to children and young people with complex psychiatric conditions such as mood disorders, self-harm, suicidality, and post-traumatic stress difficulties, where there is a need to stabilize the psychiatric condition. Often, there is a complex problem with comorbidity. Our mission is to raise the patient's level of functioning so that they can benefit from continued care in our outpatient services. We work to ensure a patient-centered focus, and our goal is that the patient should never have to be cared for in inpatient care longer than the condition requires, which makes it important to collaborate early with external actors such as healthcare neighbors, social services, and schools. In the unit, we work based on standardized care processes (SVP), Safewards, and treatment groups.

With us, the nurse has a clear leadership role with responsibility for leading and distributing work on the ward. In the role of team coordinator, you will also have the opportunity to influence and develop the operations in close collaboration with the unit manager and colleagues. You also provide continuity on the ward and have an important task in communicating and implementing maintained routines and structures.

  • You allocate time between clinical work and administration.
  • You have an overview of staffing and patient flow and support the team in daily work.
  • You drive the development of routines, working methods, and implementation of SVP together with your colleagues and unit manager.
  • You play a major role in introducing new colleagues and mentoring in nursing work and documentation.
  • You actively work for high patient safety and value-driven care with care, respect, and engagement.

We care that you, as a new colleague with us, feel secure in your professional role, and therefore you will be assigned a mentor and offered supervision every other week. The operation also has regular lectures in the child psychiatric knowledge area and introductory training for new employees within the region. We offer a meaningful and varied job with good development opportunities.

The working hours are scheduled on weekdays during the day.
