Financial Controller at Region Gotland

Finance Department
The finance department at the technical and community development administration consists of four employees and one manager.
The function has the overall responsibility for the administration's financial planning and monitoring. Here you will also find Region Gotland's local supply strategist responsible for the local supply process and a business developer focused on sustainability.
We are now looking for a financial controller for a one-year parental leave substitute, with a chance of extension.
Your Responsibilities
As a financial officer in the technical and community development administration, you will work closely with the administration's financial manager. Together, you will plan and coordinate the activities in the financial annual cycle. You will provide controller support to the water and waste department, management support department, and management team. You will assist with financial investigations and compilations as needed and perform some ongoing bookkeeping, year-end work with account reconciliations, and more. Furthermore, you will participate in the development of financial routines and the internal operations. This includes driving efficiencies in existing routines using digitalization and new technology.
As a financial officer with us, you will have an exciting and varied role. You will work independently with significant responsibility but also in a strong collaborative team where we support each other and the administration as a whole.
Who Are You?
You who are applying have a university degree in a relevant field.
You have experience in financial reporting. It is an advantage if you have experience in investment reporting and account reconciliations. Experience from the public sector is also a plus. Our financial system is Visma business solutions, and we use decision support from Hypergene. We consider it advantageous if you have experience with these systems.
As a person, we are looking for someone with good communication skills who enjoys working independently as well as collaborating in a group. You are a problem solver with strong analytical skills and can see work tasks in a broader context. Since the work involves many contacts, it is important that you are good at collaborating and building good relationships. You need to be able to prioritize and have patience with complex problems to identify solutions.
