A security guard plays a central role in maintaining safety and security in various environments. The job involves preventing and managing risks by monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and ensuring that security routines are followed. Security guards often work closely with people and need to be able to act calmly and professionally in both everyday situations and during incidents. The work can include everything from alarm responses and access controls to reporting deviations and collaborating with the police or other authorities. The role places high demands on responsibility, integrity, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

The customer gives us great trust, and your work as a security guard is important. You contribute every shift to creating safety and security for the customer and society at large, as your work creates a preventive shield against crime, improved fire safety, and much more. You will meet all residents of society, and it is important that you are clear, calm, and can make thoughtful decisions.

Qualifications

In addition to the personal qualities we are looking for and describing, you need to meet basic requirements to be qualified for the position:

• At least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• High school diploma with passing grades in at least Swedish 1
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
• Driver's license B

You also need to be unpunished*, drug-free, have a stable economy, and good health and fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.

Security guard training is advantageous for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience in the security industry, certain technical skills, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments.

If you have the right profile for Avarn and you proceed in the process but do not already possess the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted at BYA, the Security Industry's Occupational and Work Environment Board. Participation in this is a prerequisite for employment.
