The mission of Fortifikationsverket is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and other defense-related authorities for suitable properties. We build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties and facilities.

The task of the design unit is to carry out design work in-house, and the operation is currently being established. Our goal is to work closely across disciplinary boundaries to develop concepts and proposals that monitor function, technology, and physical security from an early stage. To take on the projects ahead of us, we need to grow in number and broaden our expertise in more technical areas.

Your daily life as a project manager at Fortifikationsverket

As a project manager at Fortifikationsverket, you will be a sought-after and important player in our ongoing and upcoming investment projects. You will work closely with our project managers and, over time, become part of a cohesive team with architects, construction engineers, installation project managers, and designers. You will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of projects, from start to finish. Since the role is new within the agency, your willingness to contribute to the development of working methods and routines will be in demand.

The role of project manager involves both internal and external contacts, and additional tasks that support the organization may occur. Your tasks will be varied, and you will continuously contribute to the development of our routines and working methods.

Additional tasks may occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Planned travel within Sweden may be included in the position. Regular tasks require working on-site at the office. The position is currently located in Lovön, but a move to a central location in Stockholm will take place in 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a civil engineering or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, technology, or equivalent, or equivalent experience gained in the workplace. You are experienced and versatile with at least eight years of experience in the construction and real estate industry, preferably in roles such as project manager, design manager, construction manager, and/or installation manager. You have coordinated and led BIM design and have a high level of knowledge of applicable regulations for construction.

It is advantageous if you have previous experience from new, renovation, or reconstruction projects involving security-classified information or confidentiality. We prefer that you have worked on a range of assignments in both early and late stages, preferably also as Bas-U or Bas-P. Previous experience as a technical designer in areas such as electrical, HVAC, or construction is advantageous, as is knowledge of process development and control and supervision.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a high level of security awareness.

You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English. Swedish citizenship and a Class B driver's license are required.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may begin with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed in a military position. The place of employment is Stockholm. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. A security check with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
