Occupational and Environmental Medicine South (AMM Syd) is a university hospital unit that investigates the relationship between patients' complaints and exposure at work and conducts risk assessments of groups in society. We also work preventively through education, counseling, and research. Our laboratory analyzes substances in work and environmental settings to assess exposure and health risks.
With us, several professional groups collaborate, including doctors, nurses, ergonomists, chemists, psychologists, and researchers. We cooperate with the rest of the healthcare system, occupational health services, employers, trade unions, and authorities within the Southern Healthcare Region as well as nationally.
AMM Syd has high research competence with associate professors and several doctoral staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a resident physician, your role includes investigating and assessing patients with work or environmentally related complaints based on current research and established best practices. You will have an exciting and varied life with good conditions for broad training. We offer an individual training program and a supervisor in accordance with established guidelines for the specialty. You will take personal responsibility for side jobs and courses with the support of the study director and colleagues.
We work in interdisciplinary teams, where different competencies and experiences enrich and complement each other. Education and research are an important part of our operations, and we have a close collaboration with Lund University. We constantly strive to improve and develop our operations, where we encourage you to contribute your own ideas and be involved in our development. Every week, you will also have the opportunity to participate in research-related seminars.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying are a licensed physician or awaiting your license with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Your language skills in Swedish correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale. A valid B driver's license is required as workplace visits are included in the position. It is an advantage if you have experience in clinical patient work after your internship, preferably within primary care. Research and publications of scientific work are meritorious.

You are meticulous and detail-oriented but also have the ability to take a holistic perspective. We also value your ability to work independently while contributing to a good team spirit. Personal suitability is of great importance.

The laboratory medicine activities include occupational and environmental medicine, biobanking, genetics, immunology, transfusion medicine, chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, and pathology. Infection control and healthcare hygiene also belong to the administration. We also conduct research within the administration.
