Communicator/Marketer at Steneby School
Stift StenebyskolanVästra Götalands län, Bengtsfors
Previous experience is desired
Steneby School is located in Dals-Långed and is a creative center with a hundred-year history. People from all over the world come here to work in the fantastic workshops and to develop their artistic skills and craftsmanship for further studies and professional life. Steneby serves as a center for cultural development within the region. Do you want to work with communication and marketing in a creative educational environment with a strong foundation in art, craftsmanship, and design – while also contributing to the development of future vocational and art and culture education? Then this could be the position for you.
The position is based at Steneby School in Dals Långed and is a permanent employment of 60–100%, starting in August 2026. The employment is with the Steneby School Foundation but also includes work for HDK-Valand Campus Steneby.
With us, art and culture education and higher vocational education coexist side by side. This means a communicative breadth where you work towards both artistic and vocational target groups, national and international applicants, industry actors, funders, and public partners.
The Assignment
As a communicator/marketer, you have a central role in the school's development, visibility, and attractiveness. You work both operationally and strategically, in close dialogue with management, teachers, and external partners.
Your main tasks are to:
• be responsible for communication and marketing towards prospective students, the industry, funders, and other stakeholders
• highlight the quality, results, and societal relevance of the programs through targeted and audience-adapted communication
• plan and implement campaigns, student recruitment efforts, and presence at educational fairs and events
• develop and drive internal communication so that employees and students feel well-informed and involved
• lead the work on developing a new website and administer and further develop the existing website and digital channels
• work with content production: text, images, video, and social media
• contribute to brand development in an environment where art, craftsmanship, and design meet
• work with some elements of study administration and educational information
Opportunities and Complexity in the Assignment
The assignment operates in a dynamic environment where several logics interact:
• artistic freedom and pedagogical development
• the industry's requirements for vocational education and employability
• public assignments, funding models, and regulatory requirements
• national and international student recruitment
• cultural environment, sustainability, and contemporary societal issues
This requires the ability to transform the quality of education as well as craftsmanship, design, and artistic processes and values into communication that is relevant, understandable, and adapted for different target groups.
At the same time, the role offers great opportunities to influence how vocational and art and culture education is positioned in society and how future students find their way to education in craftsmanship, design, and art.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is creative, structured, and communicative, and who enjoys working independently as well as in collaboration with others.
You have:
• post-secondary communication education or equivalent experience in marketing communication and brand work
• good experience with digital tools, CMS systems, and social media
• experience in content production (text, images, video material)
• very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• the ability to plan, prioritize, and drive processes from idea to implementation
Desirable
• experience from the education sector, preferably YH or art and culture education
• experience in student recruitment or international communication
• experience in graphic design
• knowledge of publicly funded operations
• interest in or experience with art, craftsmanship, design, or cultural production
Employment Conditions
• Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
• Scope: 60–100%
• Start date: August 2026
• Place of employment: Dals Långed
We offer
• wellness allowance
• a stimulating work environment in a creative and knowledge-driven organization
• the opportunity to work closely with programs of high artistic and craftsmanship standards

Your application should include
