IT Coordinator at the Equality Authority
The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have the same power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. The work includes issues related to influence, economy, health, education, work, and bodily integrity.
The Equality Authority shall ensure that the government's gender equality policy is implemented effectively by contributing to its execution. The agency's task is to coordinate, monitor, and provide support in various areas of gender equality. The Equality Authority is an LGBTQI strategic agency, which means that the agency shall promote the equal rights and opportunities of LGBTQI individuals in its operations.
Within the department for operational support, we are responsible for all processes of an administrative and operational nature. This includes, among other things, registration, archives, legal matters, procurement, IT, finance, operational follow-up, HR, state grants, and other administrative processes. The department is currently divided into four units: the Legal Unit, the Finance Unit, the HR Unit, and the State Grants Unit. The Equality Authority has an external IT service provider. We work in a fully cloud-based Microsoft 365 environment.
The Equality Authority will undergo an agency-wide reorganization in 2026. This means you will be part of a development phase where structures, working methods, and collaborations are still being formed. The role therefore requires you to be flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where not all conditions are established from the start.
Job Responsibilities
As an IT Coordinator at the Equality Authority, you play a key role in shaping, managing, and further developing a secure, modern, and sustainable IT environment. Together with colleagues in the department, you contribute to the agency's work with information management. The assignment encompasses the entire lifecycle of the agency's IT solutions and involves work at both operational and strategic levels. You will be a link between the agency and partners regarding procurement and implementation projects of IT systems. You will also be part of the agency's systematic data protection and information security work. The role combines technical expertise with knowledge of national and international requirements, regulations, and standards in the field of information security. Job responsibilities include, among other things:
- Designing technical and security requirements for procurements
- Leading the work on system and information classification
- Conducting risk and vulnerability analyses (both theoretical and practical)
- Implementing training initiatives in areas such as AI, information security, and data protection
- Developing governing documents in the areas of IT, digitization, and information security
- Monitoring developments in IT, digitization, and information security
- Being the agency's contact for the external IT service provider
- Coordinating and being responsible for the ongoing management of, for example, M365.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Post-secondary education with a focus on IT, information security, law, public administration, or another area that the employer deems relevant for the position.
- Experience in IT governance, system management, and monitoring of deliveries in collaboration with external IT partners.
- Experience working with information security.
- Experience in public sector work.
- Knowledge of the requirements in information security and the offerings and national development projects that exist and are conducted.
- Knowledge of guidelines, models, and recommendations from relevant authorities such as MSB, DIGG, PTS, and IMY.
- Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Operational experience in data protection work, including knowledge of and application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Experience working with business architecture.
- Experience in the implementation or management of information security management systems (ISMS).
- Experience in procurement according to LOU.
Meritorious means that it is an advantage if you meet the following requirements, but they are not mandatory to be considered for the position.
We place great importance on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge. You are structured and have a clear drive to achieve results. You actively contribute to development in your area. You have knowledge in the fields and can translate needs into sustainable solutions. You create engagement and collaborations through attentive communication and constructive problem-solving with the business and IT. You are service-oriented both externally and internally. You thrive in the variety that the role entails and have the ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously. Since the unit is small, you contribute broadly where needed. We see a need to be on-site at the office several days a week.
