Welcome to apply for the position of school nurse at Rodengymnasiet. You will be part of a cross-professional team with school nurses, counselors, special educators, and program directors as your immediate supervisor.

Together with the school doctor and in consultation with the school management, you will be responsible for organizing the medical interventions of the student health services in the school. The work involves collaboration with students, parents, school staff, and organizations and authorities outside the school.

The Assignment

• be part of one or more of the school's student health teams (EHT)
• contribute medical expertise regarding the school's preventive and health-promoting work
• work for a good physical, mental, and social working environment for students in close collaboration with teachers, guardians, school management, and the student health team
• offer health talks and health checks
• work with health-promoting initiatives on themes such as stress management, ANDTS (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco, gambling addiction), as well as sex, consent, and relationships in classes and groups
• provide supportive conversations in health matters to students and guardians as needed
• independently assess and prescribe vaccinations in the national vaccination program and supplementary vaccinations as needed
• actively participate in the school's joint systematic quality development and, together with the student health group, drive the development of promoting and preventive work as well as routines and processes at the school, group, and individual levels.
• participate in regular collegial meetings and group supervision.

Challenges and Opportunities

Our common challenges within student health are to support the development of health-promoting initiatives with the goal of gradually reducing remedial work. This is a task that requires creativity and courage, knowledge, and collaboration on multiple levels.

The role also spans many external contact points, which requires you to have a good ability to collaborate and cooperate with others in a responsive and smooth manner.

What You Need to Bring

You are/have

• licensed nurse with specialist training as a school nurse, pediatric nurse, or district nurse.
• experience as a school nurse or working with children and adolescents
• knowledge and interest in supporting students with diagnoses within NPF, i.e., ADHD and autism spectrum.
• interest in working with promoting and preventive health work
• structured in your work with the tasks necessary for a well-functioning medical health.
• a genuine interest in the school's students and a desire to support them in achieving their goals in school and to assist the educational staff in the promoting student health work. In this work, it is important that you have the ability to speak in front of groups of both students and sometimes staff
• ease in collaborating and taking initiative, showing good judgment in statements and actions.
• good linguistic and analytical skills as well as extensive experience working with a computer as a working tool. We document electronically in Prorenata and have digital student health surveys.

The student health team consists of 8 people. In your role, you will be part of one or two student health teams consisting of a counselor, a school nurse, a special educator, and a program director. Your team works with about 3-4 of the gymnasium's 14 programs.
