Ersta Elderly Homes is part of Ersta Diakoni and operates a total of nine elderly homes in Stockholm and Uppsala. Our goal is to provide our residents with a safe and enriching everyday life, with activities, community, and good and pleasant meals. With us, everyone should feel at home!

Näsbypark Parkinson and Elderly Home has 25 places in the specialized unit for people with Parkinson's disease and 11 places in our elderly home with a somatic focus. The Parkinson unit is the only one in Sweden, and the staff has specialized expertise in Parkinson's disease. We work in teams consisting of care staff, nurses, rehabilitation staff, doctors, and neurologists, and if necessary, consulting speech therapists, dietitians, and deacons. All these professional categories collaborate around the resident to achieve professional person-centered care. We also offer external counseling support and have close cooperation with a psychiatric team. We have a newly built gym for our patients to train in, where you as an occupational therapist can hold group training or other activities. In newly renovated premises, we can now offer an independent and stimulating job focused on engagement, knowledge, and care in a personal and family-like workplace.

The residence is located in the center of Näsbypark, close to bus and Roslagsbanan. There is free parking in the surrounding area.

About the role

As an occupational therapist with us, you are responsible for the patients' ADL assessment and assistive devices, assessment of the physical environment, as well as fall risk assessment and measures. You establish care plans based on the residents' needs, follow up and evaluate. You are also responsible for planning and carrying out activities at the residence (25% of the time). You work with training at both the individual and group level and are also responsible for the testing and prescription of assistive devices. The work is performed both independently and in close collaboration with our physiotherapist.

Supervision of care staff is a natural part of the role. You will be part of the local management team and participate in team meetings on the wards.

The advertisement refers to a permanent position at 100%. Working hours are scheduled on weekdays, during the day.

Your experience

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed occupational therapist

• has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

We would also like you to have experience from elderly care and experience from patient-related work with neurology/Parkinson's patients. Documented specialist competence in neurology or Parkinson's is an advantage.
