Engineer in Aviation Systems

About the Position

As an engineer, you will work within our aviation material systems (FMS). For FMS Tp84, which is in the maintenance phase, the tasks aim to ensure and maintain the system's capability and availability for the user, the Swedish Armed Forces. FMS C-390 is in the procurement phase with planned delivery starting in 2028. This includes conducting or supporting work with operational and maintenance analyses, maintenance preparation, and spare parts optimization to optimize the system's life cycle cost and availability. You will also participate in the selection of maintenance concepts, development of maintenance plans, and procurement of maintenance agreements. You will be involved in the establishment and/or maintenance of the logistics function, which includes, among other things, aircraft with documentation, manuals, equipment, and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) with batch lists. You will also participate in system safety work.

As an engineer with us, you can work with the following focus areas:

  • Sustainable Maintenance Solutions (ILS, Integrated Logistics Support) where you work with the logistics function both in the establishment phase and maintenance phase for each aviation material system. You will participate in technical system work concerning complex products within the ILS technology area.
  • Warning and Countermeasure Systems (VMS) where you work on the establishment and maintenance of VMS functionality regarding aviation material systems. You will participate in technical system work concerning complex products within the VMS technology area.
  • Training and Simulator Systems where you work on the establishment and maintenance of aviation material systems' simulators and training issues. You will participate in technical system work concerning complex products within the SIM technology area.

You will be part of a project team where, under the leadership of the project manager and product manager, you will work both independently and together with other team members to further develop aviation systems through all phases of the life cycle.

The positions are located in Stockholm. Domestic and international business trips are included in the positions.

About You

You are a civil or university engineer or have another education with a relevant focus for the area, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of work experience in technical system work. Since you will participate in meetings with the industry and the Armed Forces, it is a prerequisite that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English. You also have good knowledge of the Office suite.

It is advantageous if you have current and relevant experience in requirements work, procurement, and acquisitions. Since the work is conducted in project form, it is advantageous if you have experience working within projects. Likewise, experience and knowledge of system safety are beneficial. We see it as an advantage if you have relevant and current experience in the defense sector.

In the role of ILS engineer, it is beneficial if you have experience/knowledge in the ILS area or experience with aviation systems. In the role of VMS engineer, it is beneficial if you have experience/knowledge in the VMS/electronic warfare area or have experience with aviation systems. In the role of training systems/simulators engineer, it is beneficial if you have experience/knowledge in training systems/simulators for flying systems.
