The Municipality of Gislaved is looking for a city architect who wants to help create sustainable, attractive, and well-designed living environments for the future.
With a strong focus on quality, dialogue, and strategic development, you will play a key role in the municipality's urban planning work, from vision to reality. Your mission
As a city architect, you are a strategic key player responsible for elevating design issues, architectural quality, and long-term sustainability in the municipality's physical planning. You will work in an advisory capacity and drive issues related to comprehensive planning, detailed planning, building permits, and urban development, with a clear holistic perspective. Your position is located within the strategic unit of the planning department.
You will contribute architectural expertise in both individual cases and the municipality's overall strategies. The role involves close collaboration with officials, residents, elected representatives, businesses, community organizations, and other societal actors.
You will create engagement for good design and drive the development of guidelines, programs, and directives for the future of Gislaved.
The municipalities of Gislaved and Tranemo have a joint building and environmental committee where you are expected to actively contribute to the committee's work and support decision-making. Collaboration with other departments, municipalities, and companies is a natural part of your daily work, as is weighing different perspectives, from cultural heritage to growth and social sustainability.
Qualifications
- Degree in architecture or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- At least five years of experience working with urban planning issues, building permit processes, and physical planning or what the employer deems equivalent.
- Experience from municipal or other public operations
- Experience working with strategic documents such as guidelines, programs, and directives within urban development
- Ability to professionally and assertively drive and represent architectural and design issues even in contexts with conflicting interests
- Good knowledge of cultural heritage issues and the ability to weigh cultural historical values against development and growth interests in physical planning
