to apply for the job
Do you want to help develop Nässjö's technical infrastructure?
We are now looking for a cartographer and measurement engineer with a particular focus on work related to technical infrastructure. With us, you will play a key role in creating, developing, and ensuring the quality of the geographic information that underpins the municipality's roads, utility systems, water and sewage projects, and other critical community functions. There are opportunities for long-term development within the role and to broaden your skills. You will be part of the community planning office where we work closely together in a non-prestigious and solution-oriented environment. The mapping unit consists of six people who together drive and develop the municipality's mapping and GIS operations, and we also collaborate with the Höglandsförbundet through a joint GIS platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will work both in the field and in the office, but with an emphasis on assignments related to the municipality's technical infrastructure. You will be involved in surveying and setting out water and sewage lines, district heating, fiber, and other infrastructure. The work also involves quality assurance, maintaining map databases, and refining and analyzing measurement data related to utility networks and technical facilities. You will participate in investigations and preparations within the community building process and have close contact with contractors, project managers, and colleagues in technical operations. The work is varied, involves fieldwork in different environments and weather conditions, and plays a significant role in ensuring both function and quality in the municipality's technical infrastructure. The role also involves a significant amount of communication, where you will continuously need to coordinate information, create clarity in assignments, and maintain good dialogue with contractors, project managers, and other partners to ensure efficient workflow.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained cartographer and measurement engineer or has equivalent experience. You have good computer skills and an interest in digital tools, and preferably experience with Topocad and Trimble equipment. Experience in measurement work within technical infrastructure is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have completed training in Road Work. You master Swedish in both spoken and written form and have a B driver's license for manual transmission. The work involves fieldwork in varying terrain, which you need to be comfortable with.
We believe you are a person who thrives close to operations that work with technical infrastructure and who has an analytical approach where you see connections in complex information. You have your own drive and take initiative to move work forward, even when conditions change. You are solution-oriented and flexible and comfortable in meetings with both colleagues and external actors. Good communication skills are crucial in this role, as you have daily contact with project managers, contractors, and other functions within the municipality. You need to be able to explain technical conditions clearly and pedagogically, create consensus among different actors, and ensure that information is conveyed correctly. The role requires you to be attentive, build trust, and actively contribute to good dialogue and effective collaboration. You work in a structured, planned manner and see opportunities for improvements and development in both work methods and processes.
We hope you will grow with us and that the role will be shaped according to both the needs of the organization and your ambitions.
We place great importance on personal suitability. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline, so do not hesitate to apply.
Do you want to develop Nässjö's technical infrastructure with us? We warmly welcome your application!
