Summer Job as an Investigator in Power System Analysis
Job ResponsibilitiesTrafikverket is currently investing in updating power system models of the authority's electricity grid, updating documentation for relay protection calculations, and inventorying and quality assuring previously completed work. The aim is to further develop the operations and strengthen our expert support in the field of electrical power.
We plan to hire two summer interns who will contribute to the development of our tools for power system analysis and protection schemes (relay protection). The tasks also include reviewing documentation from previously conducted investigations, analyses, and designs, as well as related archiving. Additionally, other tasks within electrical engineering may arise.
The tasks during the summer will include:
- Assisting in the development of power system models of Trafikverket's electricity grid in our power system simulation programs.
- Updating calculation files for relay protection settings, focusing on conversion to a new calculation program.
- Reviewing and archiving documents from previously conducted investigations, analyses, designs, etc.
- Inventorying requirement documents, drawings, and facility information related to electrical power or how the electrical power system is modeled.
On a daily basis, you will primarily collaborate with our specialists in electrical power within the unit.

QualificationsWho are you?
As a person, you are solution-oriented and have the ability to engage in various tasks and solve the situations that arise. You have good collaboration skills, are committed, and perform your tasks reliably. You are motivated by active participation where you purposefully take responsibility for your tasks while being attentive to how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.
We expect you to have:
- An ongoing university education in electrical engineering with a focus on electrical power, where you are in your 6th semester or later, or have completed such education in 2024 or later.
- Completed at least two courses in one or more of the following areas: electrical machines, power electronics, power system analysis, relay protection, or high voltage technology.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
