Medical Technical Equipment (MTU) is a department within the unit for Digitalization, IT, and Medical Technology (DIM) responsible for both medical technology products and IT operations in Region Dalarna. MTU has about 75 employees stationed at the hospitals in Falun, Mora, Ludvika, and Avesta.

We ensure that healthcare has access to safe and appropriate equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, from procurement, acquisition, and installation, through preventive and emergency service to disposal. Our goal is for the equipment to function well, that both staff and patient safety are high, and that the medical technology operations are conducted cost-effectively.

Medical Technology provides support and assistance to healthcare operations in a wide range of technical areas including, but not limited to, electricity, electronics, data/IT, gas & fluid technology, optics, rehabilitation & training, sterilization technology, fine mechanics, and mechanics. The tasks require responsible employees and can sometimes be demanding, but well-executed work often brings back a lot of positive energy in the form of appreciation from our clients. We are looking for employees who can contribute with their expertise to create high patient safety and high availability for medical technical equipment in healthcare.

Temporary position as Medical Technician, Medical Technical Equipment MTU in Falun, Mora Job Responsibilities

We now need three technicians/engineers for the holiday period; these three positions are distributed so that one is stationed at Mora Hospital and two will be stationed in Falun. Since MTU operates throughout the county, travel may occur. We are looking for someone who wants to work with medical technical equipment (MTU) in a wide range of technical areas including, but not limited to, electricity, electronics, data/IT, gas & fluid technology, optics, rehabilitation & training, sterilization technology, fine mechanics, and mechanics.

The job involves performing simpler preventive and corrective maintenance, maintaining and updating technical documentation for medical technical equipment in our inventory system Medusa, and conducting simpler delivery checks and participating in the installation and dismantling of medical technical equipment.

Requirements:

• You have an ongoing or completed university education with a focus on electronics/medical technology or equivalent, alternatively a couple of years of work experience in a relevant field
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form as communication with healthcare personnel occurs daily and there is a requirement to document all service interventions
• Proficiency in technical English to read service manuals

Personal qualities:

We are looking for someone who is ambitious, structured, meticulous, and who wants to work with critical equipment. You are practically inclined but can also handle administrative tasks. You contribute to high patient safety and have good collaboration skills. You are flexible, have a service mindset, and possess social competence.
