Ambulance Nurse at NU Healthcare

NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 inhabitants. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

Ambulance Operations

The ambulance operations under NU Healthcare cover the entire catchment area, from the west coast and Bohuslän to the beautiful landscape of Dalsland with its beautiful nature of forests, mountains, and lakes.

We are organized into six sub-areas: Bohus North (Tanum, Strömstad, and Kungshamn), Bohus West (Munkedal, Hallinden, and Lysekil), Dalsland North (Åmål, Bengtsfors), Dalsland South (Dals Ed, Mellerud, and Färgelanda), Trestad West (Uddevalla and Henån), and Trestad East (Trollhättan and Lilla Edet).

The ambulance operations staff emergency ambulances, assessment vehicles, ICU ambulances, ambulance buses, and patient transports. The ambulance crew always consists of at least one nurse.

As a nurse in the ambulance operations, you are offered a free and varied job. You will work in a team with very good cohesion and a good work environment. The ambulance operations work with continuous improvements and have, for example, systems and routines for patient follow-up, recurring internal training and exercises, collaborative assignments with other healthcare providers, and good opportunities for further education with financial assistance.

Seasonal positions are offered in one of our ambulance areas.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse. To work as a nurse in the ambulance, it is desirable that you have experience from an emergency medical unit and/or ambulance care for at least one year. Further education in ambulance care, anesthesia, intensive care, or district nursing is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and social competence.

You should have good physical capacity; tests are included in the recruitment process. A Class B driver's license is required; a Class C or C1 driver's license is desirable.

Working Hours

Working hours are scheduled with shifts during the day, night, and weekends.
