Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) is hiring a Nursing Assistant

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) is a relatively new care department, which means we are still developing the department together. It is a round-the-clock operation, and patients come to us from all over the hospital. The patients cared for at IMA require a higher level of care than in a regular ward, but not as advanced as in intensive care. At IMA, we have five care places divided into two care teams, and the average length of stay is about 1-2 days.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the department, you will meet individuals with various medical diagnoses of varying severity, where admissions and discharges, acute nursing, medical treatment, and monitoring take place around the clock. The daily work will be very varied, and you will work in a team with a nurse. Together, you will care for 2-3 patients. As a nursing assistant, you will also participate in the daily rounds, as everyone’s information is important to consider in the treatment of unstable patients.

In the role of nursing assistant, you should:

  • be a trained nursing assistant.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have previous experience working in inpatient/emergency care.

Information about the title Nursing Assistant

As of July 1, 2023, the title Nursing Assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title Nursing Assistant in healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than Nursing Assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until your certificate is submitted.
