Day Nurse for 24-Hour Care Unit for Young Adults

We are looking for you to fill the role of day nurse with an overarching coordination role in the 24-hour care unit for young adults.

Our department already has an experienced team with high competence in regional eating disorder care, which is now being expanded with a brand new team to also offer national highly specialized care for patients with eating disorders in combination with psychiatric comorbidity. The Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the largest specialist clinics in the world for patients with eating disorders and receives patients of all ages. We have a well-developed operation with outpatient care, day care, and 24-hour care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today, we have over 200 employees, we have expanded significantly during 2024 and will continue to do so in 2025. From March 2025, all three of our 24-hour care units will be located at Danderyd Hospital while outpatient care remains in Södermalm, Stockholm.

Do you want to work with and learn more about patients with eating disorders? We offer you, as a trained nurse, a stimulating and pleasant workplace where we put the patient at the center. You will initially receive training in our treatment methods and then subsequent development and supervision based on needs. We provide conventional eating disorder care, self-chosen admissions, and care for young adults. Since December 1, 2023, we have also been providing national highly specialized care (NHV) for patients with complex eating disorders together with psychiatric comorbidity. We will be an engaged team with high competence and good conditions for caring for patients with particularly complex needs.

Job Responsibilities:

As a day nurse, you will ensure continuity during the workdays of the week, and your responsibilities will include an overarching and coordinating role. You will coordinate and distribute the department's daily work together with the leading nurse, support nurses in their development, and ensure safe and secure care based on competence, person-centered and ethical approaches. You will work with other nurses to quality assure competence by teaching methods for anxiety management, leading psychoeducational groups for patients, providing support, and ensuring safe medication management. You will participate in reports and also have an active role in rounds, patient planning, and team meetings. You will work closely with the deputy unit manager in improvement and development work and with the staffing assistant as support in assessing needs and distributing resources.

Employment Form and Working Hours:

The position is a permanent employment in the basic position as a nurse with a role as a day nurse that runs for one year at a time. Full-time 40 hours/week 07:30-16:00.

Qualifications:

You are a nurse and have previous experience working in psychiatric care and/or care for patients with eating disorders. Experience in somatic care, TakeCare, LifeCare, and completed Bergen training is considered meritorious.
