Working hours

The position is a temporary contract expected to last until January 31, 2027.

Working hours for the position are days, evenings, and duty 2 out of 5 weekends. We plan our own individual schedules that are adapted to the operations with a 10-week interval.

About us

In the Infectious Diseases Department, we care for patients of all ages, from children to adults, with varying diagnoses covering all types of infectious diseases. We are a unit focused on innovation and new thinking. Our operations are characterized by a strong commitment to quality and patient safety, which permeates both daily work and continuous development. In our modern facilities, all patient rooms are single rooms with a sluice both into the department and out to the outside.

The department is an educational care unit (UVE), which means we constantly strive to maintain a good learning environment for students. Supervising nursing students and nursing assistants will therefore also be an important part of the job once you have been professionally active as a nursing assistant for some time.

The area of operations consists of, in addition to an infectious diseases department and infectious diseases outpatient clinic with needle exchange, also an eye clinic, care hotel, and dermatology/sexology clinic. Our mission is to provide good and safe care to all our patients. Our work is permeated by quality, participation, and patient safety thinking. We work with continuous improvements to minimize unnecessary waiting and hassle. We want to get it right from the start.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant. Previous hospital experience is required for the position. You have a positive attitude and can switch between independent work and collaboration in a group. We are looking for someone who wants to develop together and work for continuous improvements. You have a good approach towards patients and colleagues and the ability to remain calm in pressured situations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Protected professional title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant, or alternatively, you can present a certificate of employment showing that you had a permanent position as a nursing assistant before the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, and that you are therefore covered by the transitional regulations.

While waiting for proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare (or employment certificate), a temporary employment with the title care assistant will apply. The employment will transition to a permanent position with the title nursing assistant once proof of the protected professional title (or employment certificate) has been received.
