Paramedic to NU Health Care

NU Health Care is part of the Västra Götaland region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

Ambulance Operations

The ambulance operations under NU Health Care extend across the entire catchment area, from the west coast and Bohuslän to the beautiful landscape of Dalsland with its stunning nature of forests, mountains, and lakes.

We are organized into six sub-areas: Bohus North (Tanum, Strömstad, and Kungshamn), Bohus West (Munkedal, Hallinden, and Lysekil), Dalsland North (Åmål, Bengtsfors), Dalsland South (Dals Ed, Mellerud, and Färgelanda), Trestad West (Uddevalla and Henån), and Trestad East (Trollhättan and Lilla Edet).

The ambulance service operates emergency ambulances, assessment vehicles, ICU ambulances, ambulance buses, and patient transports. The ambulance crew always consists of at least one nurse.

As a paramedic in the ambulance service, you are offered a free and varied job. You will work in a team with very good cohesion and a positive work environment. The ambulance service focuses on continuous improvements and has, for example, systems and routines for patient follow-up, recurring internal training and exercises, collaborative assignments with other healthcare providers, and good opportunities for further education with financial support.

Seasonal positions are offered with placement in one of our ambulance areas.

Qualifications

Assistant nurse with advanced training in ambulance care. Approved emergency driver training by NU Health Care. Experience in emergency care is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and social competence.

You should have good physical capacity; tests are included in the recruitment process. A requirement is that you have a driver's license with at least C1 category, or alternatively a B driver's license obtained before 1996 with a waiver.

Working Hours

Working hours are scheduled with shifts during the day, night, and weekends.
