Do you want to work with critical infrastructure in a future-oriented industry? ELTEL is now looking for fiber technicians for the railway. Here you will have an independent and varied job where you contribute to keeping Sweden's communication running – around the clock.

As a fiber technician with us, you will primarily work for Eltel's customer, both along roads and railways. You will be responsible for addressing both larger and smaller faults in the communication systems that are crucial for functioning train traffic.

You will receive work orders from the team's production planner or designer and plan and carry out the work independently or together with colleagues. We operate a 24/7 service, which places high demands on speed, safety, and professionalism in every assignment.

In your role, you will:

• Maintain and ensure critical infrastructure, both independently and in a team
• Troubleshoot and repair communication systems
• Service and replace copper and fiber cables
• Be on call (standby) every fifth week
• Provide high service and a professional approach to customers

The work is primarily based in Kiruna, but travel within the mining area occurs when we support each other within the team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in the role, you need to:

• Have completed high school education
• Master Swedish in speech and writing
• Have a B driver's license (BE driver's license is an advantage)
• Have a flexible working style as the workday may need to be reprioritized

It is an advantage if you have experience in railway work and knowledge of fiber, copper, electricity, or mast and pole work – but it is not a requirement. If you have access training for the railway (BASÄ), it is strongly meritorious. Experience working with communication equipment is also seen as a plus.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement.
