The position is located within the Social Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority exercise, ordering services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Do you want to improve the daily lives, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!
Your tasks
Do you want a meaningful job where you can use both your pedagogical skills and practical abilities? We are now looking for dedicated support assistants/caregivers for our operations at Edhaga farm, Tinnerö Nature Reserve.
The day begins with you supporting the users in their morning routines and personal care. After that, the work transitions to the farm's daily activities. Here, you work side by side with the residents and guide them in tasks such as:
- Care of chickens and garden
- Wood handling and maintenance of the farm's properties
- Household chores such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning
We work based on Positive Behavioral Support (PBS). The goal is for each individual to grow and use their own abilities. As a support assistant/caregiver, you help support, structure, and train routines that create security and participation for our users.
Your workplace
Edhaga farm is a group home with daily activities for individuals with LSS decisions. Here you get the best of both worlds: your professional work with the users and an active farm life. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and who enjoys being outdoors in the fresh air.
Together with our five users, we manage life on the farm and its animals (chickens). This means you need to be prepared for all types of weather – boots and rain gear are just as essential tools as your pedagogical and low-arousal approach.
The farm is located in Tinnerö Nature Reserve, and a car is required in winter as there are no bus lines nearby. Biking is fine in the summer if you do not have too long a commute to work. You will be part of a team of 17 employees with expertise in care, behavioral challenges, and farm management. We work days, evenings, every other weekend, and sleeping on-call (about 1-2 shifts every other week). You never work alone at night as your colleague who works awake night is there to assist you. One of the positions is a mixed role that includes about 6 awake night shifts in a 12-week schedule.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has completed their upper secondary education. It is advantageous if you are educated in care and nursing, child and leisure, or a related field. You have previous experience working in support, care, and nursing – preferably specifically within LSS, intellectual disabilities, and NPF.
As we are an active farm, it is required that you enjoy physical outdoor work. We prefer that you have skills in wood handling and carpentry, and it is a plus if you are experienced in animal care (chickens and cats). It is advantageous if you have experience with challenging behaviors and a low-arousal response, but also if you have knowledge in AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) such as visual support or TSS (Signs as Support).
You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, as documentation and collaboration are a central part of the role. A B driver's license for manual transmission is required, as we use a car in the operations.
As a person, you are secure, self-driven, and take responsibility for moving your tasks forward. Your empathetic ability makes it easy for you to understand others' perspectives, and you are a responsive communicator who can adapt your message to your audience.
