Do you want to help build a new specialist service from the ground up and work person-centered with patients who have complex and long-term needs? We are now looking for a physiotherapist for our new Rehabilitation Clinic for post-infectious symptoms in Malmö. The clinic is being established to provide structured and equitable care for patients with long-term post-infectious symptoms such as post-COVID and ME/CFS. The service will start on April 1 and has a regional mandate within the Southern Health Region.

The clinic will receive individuals over 18 years old with at least six months of symptoms following infection or other long-term complex fatigue conditions, where other somatic or psychiatric causes have been excluded. The patient group often presents a complex symptom profile including pronounced fatigue, post-exertional malaise (PEM), pain, cognitive difficulties, and reduced functional ability. The work is team-based and interprofessional, focusing on in-depth assessment, initiation of treatment and rehabilitation, as well as planned referral back to primary care and local rehabilitation resources.

The service is located in Malmö on the hospital grounds in newly renovated premises and is co-located with other rehabilitation services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a physiotherapist, you will play a central role in the clinic's multiprofessional team. You will work together with doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists in the team's collective assessment and rehabilitation planning. The interventions are designed to be person-centered and take into account the individual's symptom profile, functional level, and limitations.

You will conduct physiotherapeutic assessments of physical functional levels as well as activity and load tolerance. Your duties include assessing post-exertional malaise (PEM) and recovery ability, as well as making individually tailored assessments of mobility, pain, and muscular function with low load. You will map the patient's activity patterns, balance between activity and recovery, symptom development over time, and assess breathing patterns. Furthermore, you will provide guidance on physical activity, pacing, energy management, and symptom-driven rehabilitation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other professionals in the team consisting of doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists, where you participate in joint assessment and rehabilitation planning, as well as in collaboration with primary care and other actors during referrals and follow-ups. Digital healthcare contacts may occur when appropriate.

An important part of the role is to contribute to the development of the clinic's working methods, care processes, and routines, as well as to collaborate with primary care and other actors during referrals and follow-ups.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and clinical experience in your profession. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in rehabilitation and/or working with chronic pain, fatigue, or complex disabilities.
• Knowledge of energy management, pacing, and symptom-driven rehabilitation.
• Experience working in a cross-professional team.
• Knowledge of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
