Infection Control Skåne is tasked with planning, organizing, and leading infection control efforts in Region Skåne. We work to reduce the transmission of infections to and between people, as well as to raise awareness and provide information about suspected and new infections. Infection Control Skåne is also responsible for providing the public with advice and information on infection control issues.

The operations are regulated by the Infection Control Act and primarily cover communicable and reportable diseases. Infection control is its own authority regarding measures under the Infection Control Act. Currently, we have 16 employees at Infection Control Skåne, and we look forward to welcoming a new colleague!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as an infection control nurse is both exciting and varied. As an infection control nurse, you will monitor the epidemiological situation regarding reportable diseases, such as sexually transmitted infections, gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. You will perform investigative and analytical work as well as preventive measures. Your responsibilities also include case management, other authority tasks, and outbreak control of infectious diseases. You will work with information and education aimed at the public, healthcare providers, and other infection control stakeholders. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other operations within Region Skåne as well as with regional and national authorities and organizations.

As an infection control nurse with us, you will be part of a well-functioning team consisting of infection control physicians, nurses, and administrators. The job offers great opportunities for professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have extensive practical experience working within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is required.

To do a good job and thrive with us, you are goal-oriented, proactive, and well-structured with the ability to prioritize tasks. It is important that you have a good ability to make independent decisions as well as to plan, implement, and follow up on various projects. Collaboration with different professional categories and cooperation with other stakeholders is essential for infection control work. Therefore, it is very important that you also have a good ability to collaborate, communicate, inspire, and convey knowledge and information to various target groups.
