Sweden's most beautiful workplace is looking for a
Cook Steward and Messman
For icebreakers, work vessels, and research vessels, temporary employment as needed
The Icebreakers – Atle, Ymer, Frej, Oden, Ale, and Idun
The Swedish Maritime Administration's icebreakers play a crucial role in keeping maritime traffic moving during the winter months. Through icebreaker assistance, we ensure that commercial shipping can navigate even under difficult ice conditions in our fairways. During the ice-free part of the year, the icebreakers contribute to other important tasks such as fairway maintenance, repairs of maritime safety devices, and other technical interventions along the coast.
The Work Vessels Baltica and Scandica
The work vessels Baltica and Scandica play a crucial role in keeping Sweden's fairways open and safe. They specialize in fairway maintenance, performing maintenance work on maritime safety devices such as marks, buoys, and lighthouses along the entire coast. During the winter months, they also function as auxiliary icebreakers to ensure that maritime traffic can continue even under tough ice conditions. The work vessels do not have a messman on board.
The Research Vessel Svea
Svea is one of the world's most modern research vessels and can be used for virtually all types of marine research and environmental monitoring. Svea is owned by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and manned by the Swedish Maritime Administration. Regular operations and clients include SLU and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), which conduct expeditions in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Through these expeditions, fish stocks, marine environments, and seabed conditions are monitored. Additionally, hydrographic surveys are conducted with ROV for the Swedish Maritime Administration.
