Kitchen Assistant at Nybacken

Do you want to work in an organization where meals are a central part of safety, structure, and community? Nybacken is a social psychiatric residence for adults and elderly individuals with mental health issues. We are now looking for a kitchen assistant for 50% with responsibility for our lunch service.

About our target group

At Nybacken, we primarily house older individuals with long-term mental health issues, such as:

Psychotic disorders
Bipolar disorder or severe depression
Anxiety problems
Neuropsychiatric disabilities

Many have lived with their issues for many years and may need structure, clarity, and a calm approach in their daily lives. The meal is often an important social moment and a safe point during the day.

This means you need to be:

Stable and secure in meeting people
Patient and respectful
Comfortable in an environment where mental health issues are part of everyday life

You will be responsible for the daily lunch. The food is pre-purchased and warmed. It should be prepared and served in a safe and appealing manner. You will also be responsible for order, hygiene, and self-checks in the kitchen.

Job Responsibilities

Order all food for Nybacken from prepared suppliers.
Organizing and serving pre-purchased lunch
Preparation, clearing, and dishwashing
Ensuring hygiene routines and self-checks are followed
Temperature checks and documentation
Collaboration with other staff regarding the meal situation

We offer

Part-time 50%
Immediate start
6-month probationary period with the possibility of permanent employment
