Background Jula is facing a comprehensive digital transformation with the ambition to create a modern, robust, and future-proof IT landscape that enables long-term and profitable growth. Preparations for a larger transformation program began at the end of 2025, where the entire system landscape is evaluated to ensure sustainable and future-proof investments. The focus is on platforms aimed at supporting Jula's core business in retail and with a direction towards cloud architecture.

In this journey, we are looking for a Chief Architect with a central and strategic role in Jula's continued digital development. The role is placed within the Transformation & Governance function, part of the IT & Digital department, and you report to the Transformation & Governance Manager. Here you will have the opportunity to combine strategic work with practical realization in an organization where architecture is a crucial enabler for the business.

About the role As Chief Architect, you are responsible for defining, developing, and managing Jula's overall architectural principles and target architecture. You have ownership of the long-term architectural direction and ensure that it is continuously developed in line with the needs of the business. The role does not involve personnel responsibility, but you lead strategic architectural work within the group and coordinate architectural issues to ensure that technical solutions support the business's long-term goals and meet requirements for security, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability.

Your mission In the role, you will develop and lead an architecture roadmap that connects initiatives, priorities, and realization steps over time. In the first 12-18 months, you are expected to establish a future-proof target architecture with an accompanying roadmap, define a clear strategy for how local systems should be combined with cloud services, and develop a plan for managing and gradually phasing out technical debt. You implement architectural best practices with a pragmatic approach and ensure well-functioning processes, forums, and working methods within the architecture area. At the same time, you support the realization of the architectural vision and contribute with experience in both strategic and operational phases. Close collaboration with solution architects and infrastructure architects will be crucial for the success of the assignment.

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is strategic, holistic, and comfortable navigating complex environments. You can create and communicate a clear architectural vision that is understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while also being hands-on when necessary to ensure progress in the realization of architectural decisions. You have solid knowledge of integration patterns, information modeling, security architecture, and system design, as well as a strong analytical ability to balance technology, risk, cost, and business benefits. As a person, you are communicative, pedagogical, and trustworthy with a leadership style that engages and creates consensus. You are attentive and collaborative, but clear in your decision-making.

Education and experience You have at least five years of experience in IT architecture, several of which in leading or coordinating roles. You have documented experience leading architectural work in complex environments, preferably within corporate structures, as well as driving change in both business and system architecture. You have worked with cloud architecture, such as Azure as a platform. Experience from retail, logistics-oriented businesses, and implementing ERP systems is an advantage. You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and change-intensive environment.
