The Social Administration of the City of Stockholm has an overarching and coordinating role for social services' individual and family care and disability areas. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service, and we have a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures are offered to the city's residents, and the offerings change based on the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work often takes place in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and the business community. The Social Administration is also responsible for the city's serving and tobacco permits and conducts supervision.

Welcome to us

The emergency accommodation for men consists of two facilities, Grimmans Emergency Accommodation and Aspuddens Emergency Accommodation.

We are now looking for one employee for Grimman and one for Aspudden.

The facilities cater to men in acute homelessness who also need support due to harmful use and dependence, mental health issues, comorbidity, or other difficulties. The operation is part of the Adult Housing Area within the Social Administration and has the main task of participating in the process out of homelessness. The work is carried out on behalf of the districts of Stockholm and the Homelessness Area.

Grimman receives people with a great need for supervision due to their dependence or other illnesses. There are overdoses and encounters with people who are heavily affected to a large extent.

Grimmans Emergency Accommodation is located in Södermalm, Stockholm, near Mariatorget.

The staff consists of a unit manager, a group leader, an administrator, and 16 treatment assistants, of which 9 are during the day.

Aspuddens Emergency Accommodation primarily caters to those with mental health issues and comorbidity.

Aspuddens Emergency Accommodation is located in Aspudden.

The staff consists of a unit manager, a group leader, an administrator, and 12 treatment assistants, of which 7 are during the day.

An emergency accommodation is a gathering place that offers an emergency solution in a critical stage of life. This means that the accommodation will house people with various problems, often when they are at their lowest point in life. The length of stay is often very short.

It is a drug-tolerant accommodation, which means that you are welcome even if you are affected, but you cannot drink or use drugs inside the accommodation.

Your role

The position offers varied tasks as our mission is to assist our residents out of homelessness. As a treatment assistant, you, together with colleagues, are responsible for everyday tasks such as: Admission and discharge of clients. Contact with the social emergency service. Conversations with admitted clients. Conversations with affected clients. Conversations with unmedicated mentally ill clients. Control at entry. Conflict management between clients. Assessment of the degree of influence before admission. Setting boundaries. Feedback to case managers. The tasks also include several different practical tasks such as handling meals, cleaning, and making orders, etc.

We are looking for someone with personal maturity, who is self-sufficient, stable, and has good collaboration skills. Sometimes changes arise quickly, so it is important that you are flexible and loyal, as well as having good empathetic skills.

We have an emergency-driven operation with individual assessments, which requires courage and maturity. It is often a complex job where many different skills must be used. The work includes both challenges and joy.

Grimman caters to clients who need supervision due to severe addiction. This means that overdoses, EP seizures, and loss of control can lead to violent incidents at the accommodation.

At Aspudden, you need to have good knowledge and experience regarding various mental illnesses and be able to relate to the challenges that arise around this.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who are a treatment assistant, social educator, or have equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Training in motivational interviewing and low-affect response is an advantage.

You should have:

• Knowledge and education in addiction and mental health.
• Experience working with people in active accommodation.
• Experience working with people with mental health issues and/or comorbidity.
• You need to have basic IT skills since documentation is a large part of the work.
• It is also necessary that you can handle the Swedish language both in speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Worked in an emergency accommodation or another accommodation for addicts.
• Practical experience of CPR and have been involved in resuscitation during overdoses.
• Training in low-affect response.
