Now there is an opportunity for you to step into an important and meaningful role where you get to influence the lives of children who are facing extra challenges every day. You will have a varied, challenging, and very rewarding assignment where you can use both heart and mind to create safe environments for those we work for.

Do you also want to work as a social worker in an organization that promotes development, employee well-being, and a positive work environment? Then you are welcome to join us!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for social workers for our two groups in Investigation and Placement.

For those interested in a position in the investigation group, which follows after the initial assessment has been made, the work continues with:

  • Investigation of children's needs and parents' abilities.
  • Follow-up on assistance decisions.
  • Collaboration with schools, police, child and adolescent psychiatry, and other stakeholders around the child.
  • Customizing solutions for families.

In our placement group, which takes over after an investigation has been completed, you represent the child's interests and needs, ensuring that the child has meaningful interactions with their parents and that the child is involved in their own care. You work towards reunification, parental involvement in care, and ensuring they receive the right support. This includes:

  • Monitoring the care of placed children and youth based on their individual needs and rights.
  • Considering and reassessing care, creating visitation plans, and conducting visitation assessments.
  • Close cooperation with foster care social workers and collaboration with schools, police, child and adolescent psychiatry, and other stakeholders around the child.

If you enjoy shorter contacts, meeting deadlines, and can quickly adapt in your work, the investigation group may be the right workplace for you. On the other hand, if you prefer longer-term cases where you follow clients over time, the placement group is recommended. With good cohesion and professional development, we lay the foundation for good work - We make a difference for the children!

QUALIFICATIONS

For these positions, we are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker and has a valid driver's license. Previous work experience in social services and authority handling for children and youth is an advantage.

You need to be skilled at creating safety and working alliances with those you meet, so families feel comfortable being honest, and you need to develop a secure way to communicate difficult assessments and decisions.

This is a role that gives a lot back but can also be demanding at times, so you need to have an inner acceptance that you cannot always do everything and trust that small steps will pay off in the long run. You also need to take care of your own well-being and set boundaries for your engagement to remain present for the children and youth over time.

What can we offer you?

For us, you as an employee are our most important resource, and we care about ensuring you have a good balance between work and leisure. Therefore, we have introduced four trust days per year that can be taken as full or half days for recovery purposes. We also offer wellness benefits, flexible working hours, and the possibility of vacation exchange.

At work, the fruit basket is filled, and we have a communal Friday breakfast. Occasionally, we organize lunch training for increased health and cohesion. We have set aside time for documentation on Wednesdays and method sessions every week with themes based on the requests of the workgroup.

As support in the work, there are both senior social workers, unit managers, and social administrators on site. We are also a workgroup that supports each other, laughs a lot, and helps each other when the days become unpredictable. Here, it is natural to check with the colleague next to you before going home if you have any questions.

In addition to the method sessions, each employee has the opportunity for continuous professional development through the Career Journey and other training based on both the organization's and the employee's needs.

We actively strive for an equal, equitable, and inclusive working method, and the organization has been HBTQI+ certified through Samkrafter since 2023.

About the application

When you make your application, we would like a CV that outlines your previous qualifications. You can exclude the personal letter; instead, you will answer some selection questions. We place great importance on personal qualities and good references. Before making a job offer, we will request a criminal record extract.

Warm welcome to us at Lotsen Children and Youth!
