At the Department of External Relations and Business, we, together with colleagues and external actors, drive long-term initiatives that strengthen Malmö's development, growth, and attractiveness. We operate in a dynamic environment where much is happening and in a context where Malmö plays an important role. With us, you will have a broad assignment, many points of contact, and the opportunity to create real change.

We are now strengthening our team with two new communicators focused on B2B.

Communicator - Marketing and Positioning

In this role, you will work strategically and operationally to develop and strengthen Malmö's position as an attractive city for establishing, running, and developing businesses, as well as attracting talent and skills. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues within the unit, the City of Malmö, and external actors, particularly in the business sector.

You will be responsible for coordinating and driving the department-wide work on Malmö's positioning in prioritized markets, both nationally and internationally. The assignment includes planning, implementing, and following up on marketing communication and campaigns that create long-term results.

Examples of tasks:

  • Plan, implement, and follow up on national and international campaigns
  • Project manage marketing communication efforts
  • Be responsible for contact with agencies and suppliers in Sweden and abroad
  • Be responsible for the messaging platform and communication guide
  • Work data-driven to optimize efforts

Qualifications:

  • University degree in marketing, communication, or equivalent
  • At least a few years of experience in operational marketing work
  • At least a couple of years of experience in strategic marketing planning
  • Experience in driving complex projects and processes within marketing
  • Good understanding of the business sector's conditions and interaction with public actors
  • Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of German is a plus.

Communicator - Editorial Responsibility

As a communicator with editorial responsibility, you will drive the narrative about Malmö as an attractive city for business establishment and development. You will be responsible for content, tone, and quality in our channels, from idea to follow-up, and contribute to long-term changes. At the same time, you will participate in the department's projects with strategic and operational communication support, shape messages, and act as a communicative engine in cross-functional collaborations.

Examples of tasks:

  • Plan, produce, and publish target group-adapted content
  • Ensure that communication supports goals and has a consistent tone
  • Follow up and optimize content based on data
  • Manage and develop channel strategy, working methods, and processes

Qualifications:

  • University degree in marketing, communication, or equivalent
  • At least a few years of experience in operational content production across various channels
  • At least a couple of years of experience in strategic content planning
  • Familiarity with and experience in digital tools and services such as LinkedIn, CMS systems, newsletters, and AI tools
  • Good understanding of the business sector's conditions and interaction with public actors
  • Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of German is a plus.

As a communicator in the Department of External Relations and Business, you belong to the Marketing and Attractiveness unit. Our mission is to strengthen Malmö's attractiveness as a leading place for business and visitors - nationally and internationally. We work with Malmö's positioning and awareness towards target groups such as companies, investors, talents, and visitors.

We are a creative, open team of 13 people where humor plays a big role. Everyone has some form of expertise, and together we complement each other. We work both strategically and operationally. This is a fun and varied job, and we believe it is important to have equal parts structure and creativity. Developing ourselves, the group, and our work is important, and we are happy to share our expertise, for example in our joint meetings and learning sessions.

The City Office works with a holistic perspective close to the city's leadership and is tasked with directing, challenging, and strengthening the development power in the organization, the city, and the region. Here, broad expertise in strategic and development-oriented issues is gathered, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to Malmö's long-term societal development.
