Unit Manager in Property Services

About the Role

As a unit manager in Property Services, you will lead a property team consisting of property technicians, operations technicians, energy technicians, and repairers – a total of 17 employees. The staff are experienced, engaged, and proud of their mission to create safe, functional, and suitable premises for Lund Municipality's operations.

The role is part of a strong co-leadership together with three other unit managers and the department head. This position is suitable for you if you are a team player at the managerial level and see the value of shared responsibility, coordination, and learning. You have overall responsibility for the unit and work closely with both colleagues and partners to develop the operation in a sustainable and structured manner.

Your Main Responsibilities Include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing employees in their daily work
• Creating engagement, participation, and a good work environment
• Leading and developing the operation both operationally and strategically
• Responsibility for personnel, budget, work environment, and results
• Working systematically with follow-up, analysis, and improvement work
• Collaborating with customers, administrators, and other parts of the municipality

We Are Looking for You

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• A university or college degree, preferably technical, or other education combined with experience that the employer deems relevant
• Several years of managerial experience with personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility
• Experience from property operations or other technical operations
• Good understanding of property technology
• Experience working in larger organizations
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing

It is advantageous if you have experience with property systems, energy efficiency, sustainability issues, and working in politically governed organizations. Completed leadership training is also considered an advantage.

About Us

The Property Services department has over 80 employees and is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, energy efficiency, and outdoor environment maintenance in the municipality's property portfolio. The department consists of four units: Property Services 1–3 and the Object Management unit.

The Service Administration meets the needs of other administrations and municipal companies for service. We have over 600 employees distributed across six departments. Together, we work to build and manage the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing, ensuring they are intact, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare meals for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly, take care of green areas around the municipality's buildings, and manage the municipality's vehicles and transport.
