Water and Wastewater Engineer at the Technical Administration

The Technical Administration is now seeking a Water and Wastewater Engineer for the Water and Waste department.

The Technical Administration consists of nearly 200 employees and ensures that the municipality's traffic environment is safe and accessible, as well as providing nutritious and good food for children, youth, and the elderly in the municipality's school activities and special accommodations. We are responsible for ensuring that our residents have access to clean and fresh water from the tap. In addition, we manage the collection of household waste and operate our waste facility. This also includes cleaning services for our administrative premises, contract and rental management, as well as service, supervision, and preventive maintenance.

The administration consists of the following departments: public environment, water and waste, service, and a staff unit. Our organization provides us with good conditions to meet future needs and challenges regarding a balanced economy and satisfied residents and businesses.

The Planning Unit for Water and Waste, where we are now seeking a Water and Wastewater Engineer, supports the operational units and management so that the department can fulfill its mission and achieve its goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Water and Wastewater Engineer with us, you will be part of an engaged team working closely with the operational unit for Pipe Networks. Together, we are responsible for developing, managing, and securing the function of our water and wastewater pipeline network from early planning stages to operation and renewal.

In this role, you will, among other things:

• Design and dimension water and wastewater pipelines for smaller areas and individual streets
• Develop technical solutions, drawings, and documentation in connection with renovation and new construction
• Analyze operational disturbances in the pipeline network and propose measures in close dialogue with the operations organization
• Participate in and drive investigations related to renewal planning and inflow water
• Review and analyze footage from pipe inspections (TV inspections) and assess the need for action
• Participate as a water and wastewater representative in the work with new detailed plans and ensure technical feasibility
• Investigate and manage new connections for establishments and properties
• Work on property connections and contribute to reducing incorrect connections and extraneous water
• Prepare decision-making documents, cost assessments, and technical statements
• Develop proposals for stormwater solutions and conduct smaller stormwater investigations

The work involves a broad technical responsibility where you combine design, analysis, and investigation with collaboration both internally and externally. The role offers the opportunity to work both tactically and operationally with the development of a long-term sustainable water and wastewater pipeline network.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant technical degree from a university or college, or other education/experience deemed equivalent.
• Two years of work experience in the water and wastewater field, preferably with a focus on the renewal of water and wastewater networks.
• Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as the job includes delivering written reports and other documentation.
• Driver's license (business travel by car is included in the position).
