JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of building inspector, you will handle applications for building permits, notifications, and preliminary decisions, supervision according to the Planning and Building Act, as well as processing and supervision of shoreline protection cases according to the Environmental Code. The job responsibilities also include technical review and supervision in building permit matters, leading consultations, performing inspections at construction sites, and deciding on building permits, mandatory ventilation checks, elevators, start and completion certificates.

You will make your own decisions by delegation but also process and present cases that are decided in the building and traffic committee. An important part of the job is advising and providing service to the public, businesses, and other authorities. In your role as a building inspector, you will work independently but in close collaboration with other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

The assignment is an important part of the municipality's community building process, which requires a genuine interest in sustainable construction and accessibility, as well as an understanding of the impact the department's work has on the municipality's community development.

We are looking for someone who is a trained building engineer or building permit officer or has equivalent technical competence and experience, preferably as a responsible control officer, designer, or other suitable experience from the construction industry. Previous experience as a building inspector in municipal administration is an advantage.

You must have very good knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the laws and regulations that apply in the area, such as the Planning and Building Act, the Planning and Building Ordinance, the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations, the Environmental Code, etc.

You are service-oriented and good at expressing yourself in speech and writing and are proficient in Microsoft Office. You have good collaboration skills and are proactive. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

A manual transmission B driver's license is a requirement.
