The ECT and rTMS clinic is a specialized unit within the County Adult Psychiatry in Dalarna. We are responsible for meeting the psychiatric needs for ECT and rTMS treatments for both outpatient and inpatient care.

The operation also includes training of staff and students, as well as participation in research projects.

The clinic is connected to the national ECT registry and rTMS registry, and our efforts are based on evidence, experience, and a strong commitment to patients. The majority of our patients are treated for depression of varying severity, but we also meet individuals with conditions such as psychosis, mania, and various anxiety disorders. We are a well-functioning team where caregivers, nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, and anesthetic staff work closely together.

Do you want to work in a highly specialized and evidence-based psychiatric operation where you truly make a difference? The ECT and rTMS clinic within the County Adult Psychiatry in Dalarna is now seeking an engaged caregiver/nursing assistant for a temporary position with the possibility of extension.

As a nursing assistant/caregiver with us, you will:

• Perform standard nursing assistant tasks such as observation, monitoring, and care
• Work in the recovery room during ECT days
• Participate in the planning and implementation of ECT and rTMS treatments
• Follow the patient through the entire care flow - from referral to treatment and some follow-up
• Conduct psychiatric assessments and continuously follow up on the patient's well-being
• Document and register in patient records according to applicable routines
• Collaborate closely with other parts of psychiatry and participate in research-related activities

You will receive internal training and guidance from experienced colleagues to safely transition into the work and methods.

Requirements:

• Degree from the Health and Care program, vocational package Health and Care in adult education, YH education Caregiver in Psychiatric operations 400 credits or equivalent relevant education

Desirable:

• Experience in psychiatric care

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
