The care department is part of the specialist clinic for Medicine Geriatrics and Rehabilitation. We have 34 inpatient care places where we care for patients in two sections, one containing geriatrics and rehabilitation places and the other caring for patients with various acute internal medical conditions. Our large patient groups are infection patients and patients with cardiological conditions, COPD/Asthma, as well as geriatric patients and patients in need of rehabilitation after stroke or orthopedic conditions.

In the spring of 2026, we also plan to start Acute Geriatric care places with us, and these will then be within the Ger/Rehab unit.

The responsibilities as a nurse in the unit are varied and provide good opportunities for both professional and personal development over time. You will work with everything from nursing, wound dressings, injections and infusions, blood transfusions, and medication management to medical technology equipment, contact with relatives, and record-keeping. It also includes mentoring students from the nursing program at Dalarna University in T4 and T6.

We offer professional development through relevant training and courses based on the needs of the business and your interests.

In the role of section leader for the medicine section, it means being a leader without being a manager. The section leader should be highly involved in the work with both the unit's routine issues, patient safety issues, as well as actively working with improvements and contributing to business development.

The section leader role is an assignment of 20% of the employment and with an appointment of 2 years with a permanent position as a nurse in the organization.

The section responsible nurse should regularly participate in direct care and work to ensure that the organization actively works with the quality and follow-up requirements placed on the organization.

Among other things, the assignment description includes

• Function as a management nurse. Work in direct care, support and guide colleagues on routine-related questions.
• Ensure that available resources (competence, staff, premises, and materials) are used effectively and flexibly.
• Participate and be responsible for development groups/areas of responsibility
• Plan and conduct internal training days
• Responsible for the development and updating of the section's care and quality documents and publish these in the unit's workspace
• Extracts from quality registers and actively work with these as a basis for improvement work

Day, evening, and weekend shifts are included. There is an opportunity to participate in the planning of your schedule. We use working time reduction according to the applicable agreement.

Requirements:

Licensed nurse

Meritorious:

• At least 1 year of experience with clinical work as a nurse
• Previously worked with improvement work or business development

This position requires that you have a valid license for the relevant profession.
