Job Responsibilities

We offer you an exciting assignment as department manager at the specialist dental care of Hallands Sjukhus Halmstad/Varberg, where you represent Region Halland as an employer. As a manager within Region Halland, you have two clear assignments; to steer and lead with a focus on results and to engage and motivate your employees. You will be the manager for employees within the categories of dental nurses, medical secretaries/healthcare administrators, and sterilization technicians.

The role of department manager is a varied and dynamic job where you are expected to lead the unit towards set goals with responsibility for the unit's economy, personnel, and work environment.

You are one of two department managers who, together with the head of specialist dental care, form the clinic management. The role requires a holistic approach based on the organization's best interests, engagement, and responsiveness.

About the Workplace

The specialist dental care is part of Hallands Sjukhus. We are 80 employees who together provide care within all specialist branches of dentistry. The operation has two clinics located at the hospital in Halmstad and in Varberg.

In addition to specialist dental care, research and education are important parts of our operations. The clinic has an established collaboration with both units within the hospital and dental care units and universities. The specialist dental care is a development-oriented clinic where many concrete activities are ongoing to further improve the already good results.

As a department manager at specialist dental care, your primary placement will be at Hallands Sjukhus Halmstad.

As a manager in Region Halland, you will have good opportunities for internal training and to develop within leadership, labor law, and work environment. If you already have training in these areas, there are also training programs within Developing Leadership.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant education in dentistry or healthcare. Experience in leading and motivating others, as well as experience in dental care, is an advantage.

You have strong collaboration skills and understand the importance of creating good relationships both within the team and with external parties. The ability to plan and optimize staffing, considering the needs of the operation, financial frameworks, and labor law regulations, is an advantage. Knowledge of work environment efforts and change management is also meritorious.

As a department manager, you drive the operation in a goal-oriented and structured manner, focusing on resource management, quality, and improvement work. You set clear priorities and follow up on results to develop both the work environment and patient care.
